Shelron Group Now Features eBay Listings in New Version of the ActiveShopper Sidebar

As ActiveShopper is constantly updated, new partnership arrangements are entered into and new usage of web-based tools added to the ActiveShopper site to increase visibility and revenues. A new version of the site includes two new tabs, allowing users to view and purchase products sold in eBay's auctions and marketplace ("Buy Now" items).

In addition, the new release also enhances the functionality of the current comparative shopping offering, by providing full specifications and digital images of virtually millions of products such as digital cameras, MP3 players and TVs allowing users to compare different products and models side by side.

    The Revenues of Shelron through ActiveShopper

Shelron generates revenues primarily according to pay-per-click models resulting from the directing of traffic to merchants' websites. SHRN generates revenues also according to pay-per-sale model when a sale derives from the directing of traffic to a merchant website, and from consulting and management of advertising campaigns through ActiveShopper. Management believes that revenues shall increase as more users install ActiveShopper software.

    Features On the ActiveShopper

ActiveShopper Comparative Shopping Toolbar & Sidebar

The ActiveShopper Toolbar is a free comparative shopping toolbar that automatically detects lower prices for products while a customer shops. After it is downloaded,  it will automatically detect when a customer views product pages on thousands of sites and will suggest e-commerce sites which offer the same identical product for a lower price. It will also keep track of what products a customer is interested in for easy return to those items.

Shelron Group now operates two full featured comparative shopping websites: 
ActiveShopper.com and ActiveShopper UK. 

Both sites offer an extensive database of products, product specifications, merchants, ratings, and prices and the ActiveShopper Mobile Edition is available to the public through cell phones and PDAs at mobile.ActiveShopper.com. 

ActiveShopper Mobile Edition Version 1.0 includes a search field, allowing users to type in a keyword and get comparative shopping information, from either ActiveShopper's US or UK comparative shopping databases. Product information is condensed to fit the relatively small screen size that is available in most cell phones and PDAs, yet it still contains the product's full name, the number of online merchants who sell it, and the lowest available online price. In addition, each product screen contains the average online price and the highest price, so that a consumer who is currently in an offline retail facility can quickly and efficiently compare the price that he sees in the shop to various online offerings.

Shelron Group Half-Year Revenues Grow 380% Over Prior Year
ActiveShopper Revenues Almost Quadruple Over Same Period in 2005

NEW YORK, August 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Shelron Group (OTC BB: SHRN - News), the parent company of ActiveShopper, today announced outstanding revenue growth of ActiveShopper.com operations over the same six-month period of 2005.

ActiveShopper.com revenues between January through June 30, 2006 grew by 383% relative to 2005 results for the same time period.

"We expect to see continued growth for Q3 of this year," says David Becker, Shelron Group's Vice President. "This fantastic growth represents the culmination of many expansion activities, including the launching of our UK site, forging of new strategic relationships, the addition of several new features, and targeted keyword advertising. We plan to build on this success over the coming months", added Eliron Yaron, Chairman of the group.

According to a report published by the Interactive Advertising Bureau and PriecewaterhouseCooopers (April 20, 2006), overall internet advertising revenues in the U.S. grew by 30% in 2005 over the prior year, reaching a new record of $12.5 billion. The report attributes this continued growth to the "effectiveness of building brands and delivering online and offline sales." New advertising opportunities, resulting from significant improvements in broadband delivery, were also noted as source of future growth. The report notes that keyword advertising represents 41% of U.S. online advertising spending.

Shelron Group to Serve Banners in ActiveShopper.com
Pre-Selected Advertisers List Includes HP and Sony

NEW YORK, August 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Shelron Group (OTC BB: SHRN - News), the parent company of ActiveShopper, today announced that it has introduced banners into ActiveShopper.com pages.

In an effort to further increase ActiveShopper's revenue and to diversify ActiveShopper's revenue sources, the Company has launched this new activity. The banners are displayed at the bottom of the site's pages and are relevant to the product or to the product category that the user is viewing.

HP and Sony are among the limited test group of pre-selected of advertisers. The Company plans to expand this list during and after the trial period.

Plans Additional Global Expansions for ActiveShopper.com
The Company is Negotiating With Several Providers
in Australia and Europe

NEW YORK, August 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Shelron Group (OTC BB: SHRN - News), the parent company of ActiveShopper, today announced its plans to expand the global operations of ActiveShopper.com.

Following the release of ActiveShopper UK earlier this year, the company is now seeking to expand its worldwide comparative shopping business. To this end, the Company plans to launch sites in Australia and possibly in non-English speaking European countries by the end of the year.

"Our UK launch proved to be successful. We are only a few months after its launch and it is already attracting thousands of customers monthly, who use ActiveShopper to compare online prices. Our Q3 financial results will show the positive impact", explains Eliron Yaron, Chairman of the Shelron Group. "This gives us the reason to work hard and get more content and volume before 2006's holiday shopping season begins", Yaron adds.

According to the research firm Mintel, the UK has surpassed Germany to become Europe's largest online shopping market. Mintel reported that close to 9.8 Billion Euros were spent online by UK consumers in 2005, while German consumers spent in excess of 9.7 Billion Euros. Mintel suggests that faster and less expensive broadband services in Europe have been driving the increase of online shopping. The report continues to note that total internet sales in Europe were at over 40 Billion Euros in 2005, an increase of 51% over the prior year.      Some Thoughts on ActiveShopper with Eliron Yaron - Chairman of the Shelron Group


 
 

You mentioned the toolbar and website would be multi-lingual and multi-currency. Do you still have plans on implementing these changes in the near future? 
What are the challenges of expanding your market for ActiveShopper in addition to currency and language? 

"ActiveShopper UK is already up and running, offering UK products, from UK merchants, where prices are in British Pounds. In addition, our sidebar is configured to use ActiveShopper UK content when it pops up in UK sites. We currently have no technical issue with adding more languages and currencies and still plan to do it. Presently, we are focused on building a stronger position in our existing markets, and providing better service to English speaking users. It would be a waste of resources if we were to spread them out over new markets in other countries before we have realized the full potential of our existing markets." 

The PPC (Pay-Per-Click) fee was an average of $0.50 and you may receive commission on the sale of some products. Are these rates still applicable? 
If so, you mentioned that over 1 million people downloaded the toolbar and there were millions of page views. Why hasn't revenue corresponded to these figures? 

"PPC averages change throughout the year, based on the season. They are higher during the buying season, as merchants know that users are in a 'buying mood,' and therefore, increase their bid on clicks. As a result, our average click rate last December was even a bit above 50 cents. During other seasons our average is between 40 and 50 cents. As for the millions of downloads and page views, you need to understand that we do not make money from the fact that people view our content. We earn when they click and go to the merchants. We have been running a range of tests to learn what works best, and what makes people click more. We are continually making adjustments and improving on this as time goes on. On the other hand, we don't want people to over-click. If they do so, it may have a long term impact on our ability to maintain high PPCs. 

"One of the nice things in the comparative shopping arena is that when the offering is as wide as ours, little targeting is needed. Most US shoppers who compare prices online also shop online, so we don't do much targeting based on gender and age. On the other hand we do pay more attention to specific product segments, especially computers and electronics, as they produce higher ROI. 

"As the site matures, changes are less visible, just as it is with children: the differences between a 2 year old child and a 5 year old child is far more noticeable compared to the differences between a 15 and an 18 year old teenager. On the other hand, besides the noticeable changes that took place during the last month (adding zip code, ability to compare products side by side, etc.) there have been many changes since the beginning of 2006."

(a) "We have completely changed our URL structure, made changes to our sitemap and have gone through numerous other small changes to make our website better crawled by Google and other search engines. This has proven as a great thing and we now have more than 600,000 pages indexed in Google. We are slowly but surely building our Google page rank and expect this effort to pay off in the coming months.

(c) We have added coupons to our site, as part of a long- term strategy to offer additional types of shopping-related content."
