WordLogic Corporation (OTCBB: WLGC)
December 16. 2003.

WordLogic Corporation (OTCBB: WLGC)

Dear Reader,

It's soon to be a wireless world as increasingly we're shedding our cords and conducting business and pleasure with new found liberty.  In the past we've sought and presented to you companies at the forefront of this wireless phenomenon and we do so today with a technology that quite literally says it all.

WordLogic Corporation (OTCBB: WLGC) could someday be a name as ubiquitous as Microsoft Word. If you believe as we do in an imminent wireless revolution, WordLogic may very well be the movement's courier. WordLogic, you see, has created a word system for the mobile device- phone, computer, and more- that is intelligent, effective and ergonomic.

No longer must you stammer through a barely coherent text message to your wife about what to buy at the grocery store or tell  your boss that "The deal is odd" when you really meant "The deal is off".

For many of us the advent of a wireless society is a wonderful thing- liberating at the very least, a spectrum of possibilities at best. Certainly this advent is borne of a desire to more effectively communicate, everywhere and anywhere. In unprecedented fashion and with incomparable ease, WordLogic allows us to do just that.

Someday I'll be writing StockUpTicks from the back of my boat.

About WordLogic Corporation

WordLogic Corporation is a progressive developer and licenser of advanced text input software for wireless information devices. WordLogic addresses the need of mobile device manufacturers to offer their customers a simpler and easier method of entering information into mobile devices. Incorporated in the United States, the company's research, testing and marketing facilities are located in Vancouver, Canada.

WordLogic is a powerful text entry system and can now be purchased directly. For each language there are three products. The FULL version has a powerful desktop tool that allows a user to manage their own personal dictionaries of words. These words can be pulled from e-mails, documents, text files- even from the word list in Microsoft Word.

This wonderful piece of software began as a project to find a way in which handicapped people could manage computers without a keyboard. WordLogic is partially funded by the Technical Assistance Program (TAP) of the British Columbia Information, Science & Technology Agency and has an open door policy with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to evaluate WordLogic products for incorporation into the OEMs devices and applications.

The Market For WordLogic Products
Is Inherent To The Growth Of Wireless

What Is The Market For WordLogic?

The market for WordLogic's products is based on two factors. One is mobility and the other is size.

As the world moves away from the tether of the large PC sitting on a desktop to 'wherever you are' real-time responses, the wireless telecomm companies have provided cleaner, quicker and more abundant signal sources. This is the buzz in the Wi-Fi world as wireless Internet connected laptops for example can now be serviced through local transmitters speeding up access and driving down access costs.

The mobility factor has always been a problem and this has been key to the development of WordLogic. As devices have become smaller and smaller and concurrently more powerful, the human touch has been somewhat forsaken for size. Screens on laptops and PDAs have gotten clearer and keyboards have gotten smaller.

Typing information into a cell phone, a PDA or a laptop keypad can be a labor-intensive challenge. Poking an index finger at a mini-calculator size keyboard seems almost barbaric considering the technology it is accessing. This is where WordLogic has its product value: the need for software that provides a predictive text and cuts the number of strokes a person has to enter.

How Does The Touch-Screen Work?

WorldLogic is much, much smarter than its rival — it guesses more quickly, and it knows variations on words.

THE LONDON TIMES

 PRODUCTS

WordLogic can be used on PDAs, Pen-Tablets, Touch Screen Kiosks, Cell Phones, Laptops, SmartPhones and Wireless Internet Devices (WIDs).

Ergonomic design, high-speed prediction and the use of icons and color ensures that using the WordLogic keyboard is familiar, efficient and fun. The product for each language ranges from a 'Full' version, to a 'Lite' version, to a dictionary add-on version. Typical Internet prices run from $38.95 to $19.89 to $12.95 respectively.

WordLogic's revolutionary method of text entry provides a simple to learn, efficient method of text entry for computing and communications devices, especially devices that are limited in screen dimensions. The system has been designed to be compact allowing it to operate effectively in small hand-held devices as well as larger in-vehicle or mounted touch screen devices. This patent pending, unique method of text entry is composed of a number of synergistic and innovative capabilities.

For example, type the letter “t” and it is already offering to spell out “that”, “the”, “this” and “time” in only one more stroke, to the left of the keyboard. Type “corr”, and keep a pen on the final “r” to bounce through any number of variations, thus writing “correspondingly” in a mere five strokes.

Keyboard Layout

In developing the design for the WordLogic keyboard it was important to ensure that the user's experience was familiar, comfortable, efficient and fun. To achieve this goal, the use of ergonomic design, high-speed prediction and appropriate use of icons and color were incorporated.

The keyboard follows the standard QWERTY layout familiar to users  from the typewriter and the PC based keyboard. The design allows the user to keep their hands at rest and move only their fingers to select keys thereby reducing the amount of work needed to enter information. Once a user becomes more expert in its use, the user will gain unprecedented increases in the efficiency of text input and a great reduction in the amount of effort expended to achieve this efficiency.

In independent user trials, the combined features of the simplified keyboard design, intuitive word prediction and the ease in which  gesturing can be used to construct long or complex words were all compelling reasons for users to choose the WordLogic keyboard over the alternatives. Even users who considered themselves to be experts at typing or handwriting recognition tools still said they would choose WordLogic's keyboard.

Prediction

Once the first key is pressed on the keyboard, symbolizing the start of a new word, the keyboard begins its predictions and displays them to the user.

Based on a patent pending dictionary design, the keyboard predicts and displays to the user the 5 most likely letters to follow the ones entered, as well as the most frequent words beginning with the entered letters. The keyboard predicts words with one or two taps. By predicting the letters, the user need only scan the few highlighted letters - not the entire keyboard - to locate the next letter. The result is increased letter entry speeds. The letters are highlighted in two colors, green indicates the user should type another character and red indicates the user should stop and select a word from the displayed list.

By displaying frequently used words, the user can quickly select the desired word once it appears, thereby reducing the amount of time needed to enter a word. The most common words can be predicted after inputting one or two letters of the word, producing a rapid increase in text entry speeds and in the ease in which it is performed.

Gesturing

Using WordLogic's gesturing technology - sliding the stylus across the screen to the desired word choice - the ease and speed of entering complex words is reduced to a few slight gestures of the pen.

Typing a "d" and then holding down on the letter "i" will access the gesturing technology, the keyboard is replaced with a diagonal of circles and words.

Beneath the stylus a dark circle appears called the "safe zone". Nothing is selected while the stylus is resting over this location. To select one of the words the user moves their fingers in a natural arc and places the stylus into one of the circles. For instance the user could select "different…", the "…" indicating there are other words beneath it.

Construct words quickly by WordChunking™

The words presented to the user focus on the root, or sub-portions, of a word. This means that a larger percentage of words can be provided to a user in a smaller amount of space. WordLogic's technology allows the user to complete words at any time in an easy to learn and efficient manner, removing spelling errors or typing difficulties.

The screen automatically redraws with the words that are derived from "different". Note that the root of the word is always shown in blue while the endings appear in black. This subtle difference allows the eye to recognize endings more rapidly. The user makes another small gesture to select "differently". Instead of the standard 12 screen taps, this required two screen taps and two short simple gestures. The gesture method is obviously efficient and intuitive for even novice users of text entry systems.

Product Features
That Put WordLogic Ahead Of Its Competition

Customization

Since every user is unique word prediction cannot be perfect or include every possible word or acronym that a user may want to use. Instead, the WordLogic keyboard provides an efficient and effective way for the user to quickly supplement the dictionary directly on the device. To access this functionality the user would type in a new word, such as "aardvark" and then press the space bar ending the word. While entering the word the user would see that the keyboard has stopped predicting and that this word is not currently known. The keyboard would then display the "Add Word" button to the user.

If the user would like to add the word "aardvark" to the dictionary the user need only quickly tap on the "Add Word" button and it will then be available in the dictionary. Next time the user types "aa", aardvark will be presented as a suggested word. If the user only uses the word occasionally the user may not want to add it. In this case the user would not tap on the button but instead begin typing their next word. The keyboard would predict as usual.

Adaptation

The user initially has access to a standard version of the dictionary that is based on how the general population uses the English language to communicate. As the user creates documents and e-mails, schedules meetings and sends messages, the keyboard and its dictionary learn the words the user uses most often and presents them first. What this means is that after a short period of time the keyboard will predict the most popular words for the individual user after only one character has been typed. For example, if the user types the letter "t", the top 5 "t" words that this particular user usually types would appear immediately for selection. This automatic customization increases the user's text entry speed substantially over time.

 Scalability

The WordLogic keyboard can accept a number of different dictionaries to perform its prediction. In addition to language dictionaries professional dictionaries such as medical and legal can be added. Special dictionaries specific to a certain region or certain product line can be added. All of these dictionaries can be used to make the product more and more relevant to a particular vertical market. The user can modify the dictionaries at will and even turn them on and off on the device to suit changing situations.

The existing version was developed in Windows CE. The Company will shortly initiate development in EPOC, Palm and Linux. As well, this development model will allow the Company to focus its development resources and align them with market opportunities as they arise. WordLogic is currently in a position to license its technology to licensees utilizing the Windows CE or Pocket PC operating systems.
