Detection Technology Launches Pilot Program for Model
7001 Airborne Particle Detector

ANGELES--(BW HealthWire)--Feb. 7, 2002--Universal
Detection Technology(a) (Nasdaq:UDET - news; Frankfurt:PRCC.F),
a leading provider of next generation technologies for
the detection of hazardous airborne agents, today announced
the launch of an innovative pilot program geared towards
early adopters of its bio-terrorism detection devices
currently in development.
Under
the program, the Company will make available its current
Model 7001 to select customers for installation and
use while the Company continues its ongoing modification
and reengineering of the device to enable real-time
detection of airborne biological and chemical agents.
In its current configuration, the Model 7001 enables
analysis of particles on a periodic or on-demand basis.

our technology evolves, our devices will be in the marketplace
performing in real life settings,'' stated UDT President

with a number of prospective customers representing
