i2Telecom International Expects
2008 Revenues To More Than Quintuple to Over $5 Million
ATLANTA--(BUSINESS
WIRE)--i2Telecom International, Inc. ("i2Telecom®") (OTCBB: ITUI),
a developer of award-winning patented and innovative high-quality Voice-over-Internet
Protocol ("VoIP") products and services, today announced that it expects
revenues from the sale of VOIP products and related services to exceed
$5 million in the year ending December 31, 2008, compared with less than
$1 million in revenues during 2007.
This anticipated revenue
growth will be driven by revenue-sharing and licensing agreements involving
the Company’s new MyGlobalTalk™ technology. In addition, the Company may
have the opportunity to realize further profits from the monetization of
a portion of its growing intellectual property portfolio. The Company currently
has patent applications pending related to over a dozen different additional
important VoIP technologies, all of which are deployed today in the Company’s
VoIP technology offerings.
The Company attributes
much of the anticipated acceleration in revenue growth to its new patent-pending
MyGlobalTalk™ technology, which has been met with great enthusiasm among
current and prospective customers.
- MyGlobalTalk™ is an innovative,
unique and proprietary software application developed internally by i2Telecom’s
R&D team.
- MyGlobalTalk™ places Internet
telephony in the hands of every cellular phone user, independent of wireless
carrier technology, handset manufacturer, or the type of wireless carrier
voice/data plan involved.
- Once MyGlobalTalk™ is installed
on a cellular handset, users are able to call any telephone in the world
directly from their cellular phones using VoIP technology, at a fraction
of normal long-distance rates.
- MyGlobalTalk™ utilizes a
prepaid, “pay as you go” plan structure and no long-term contract is required.
- Additionally, MyGlobalTalk™
is fully functional without requiring local access to the Internet or proximity
to an Internet “hotspot.”
- MyGlobalTalk™ users also
need not wait for the availability of dual-mode WiFi phones, because MyGlobalTalkTM
provides the benefits of dual-mode phones at a fraction of the cost, using
customers’ existing mobile handsets.
- MyGlobalTalk™ does not require
carriers to participate, since users can sign-up independently for the
service.
“Market response
to MyGlobalTalk™ has been tremendous, and we anticipate adding a significant
number of new customers in the near future,” commented Paul Arena, Chief
Executive Officer of i2Telecom International, Inc. “The explosive growth
in wireless service, with approximately 2.6 billion GSM users worldwide
and approximately 220 million cellular users in the United States alone,
has greatly expanded the opportunities to access Mobile VoIP technology.
MyGlobalTalk™ allows users to conveniently make low-cost long distance
calls from their cell phones to anywhere in the world.”
MyGlobalTalk™ has recently
received a number of awards, including the 2007 INTERNET TELEPHONY(R) Magazine's
'Product of the Year' Award, the 'Best of Show' Award at the IT Expo East
2008, the 2007 'Product of the Year' Award by Unified Communications Magazine,
and the 2007 'Product of the Year' Award by Communications Magazine. MyGlobalTalk™
was also the subject of this month’s cover story in the leading industry
trade journal INTERNET TELEPHONY Magazine.
“The addition of MyGlobalTalk™
to our family of proprietary VoIP technology solutions will allow i2Telecom
to deliver a unique, low-cost telephony service to businesses and consumers
by combining the benefits of unparalleled mobility with VoIP technology,”
continued Arena. “MyGlobalTalk™ is the first VoIP service of its kind and
provides higher-level user functionality to wireless users. The VoIP market
is transitioning from an ‘early adopter’ phase into a practical, dependable
service offering that meets the telephony requirements of a much broader
market, and we believe i2Telecom will emerge as one of the leading independent
software development companies in the industry. We believe ongoing changes
within the telecom industry will continue to reward innovative and nimble
companies.”
“Our channel distribution
response to MyGlobalTalk™ has been very enthusiastic, and negotiations
on a number of revenue-sharing and licensing agreements are underway. Based
upon contracts and initiatives that are already in place, we expect i2Telecom’s
revenues to approach $2 million in the third quarter of 2008, or more than
double the Company’s revenues for the entire year ended December 31, 2007.
Revenues should approximate $3 million in the fourth quarter, resulting
in full-year 2008 revenues in excess of $5 million,” concluded Arena.

The patented VoiceStick™ device enables any telephone or business
phone system (PBX) to access our global network and advanced routing technologies
to complete most of the call over the Internet, paying only for the last
leg of the connection. |
MyGlobalTalk™ (U.S. Patent Pending:
60/014,324) is an Internet Gateway for Cellular Phones that obviates the
need for WiFi phones and obviates the need for Internet Hotspots. Once
MyGlobalTalk is installed on cellular handsets the users are able to call
any telephone in the world directly from their cellular phones using VoIP
technology, at a fraction of normal long-distance rates. MyGlobalTalk does
not require carriers to participate and as a Global Calling Service, is
as low as 2¢/minute on cell phones. MyGlobalTalk is a FREE SERVICE
with NO CONTRACTS, NO MONTHLY MINIMUMS and NO CONNECTION FEES and is poised
to grow rapidly as more users sign onto this low-cost and reliable service
for worldwide calling.
MyGlobalTalk™ (www.myglobaltalk.com),
was just awarded Internet Telephony Magazine’s “Product of the Year 2007”
and Unified Communications® Magazine 2007 “Product of the Year Award”.
MyGlobalTalk™ leverages i2Telecom’s® patented technology and previous
Internet Telephony Magazine awards for “Product of the Year 2004” and “VoIP
Service Provider of the Year 2005”. In an industry “first”, MyGlobalTalk™
places Internet telephony in the hands of every cell phone user, independent
of wireless carrier technology, handset manufacturer or the type of wireless
carrier voice/data plan involved. In addition, MyGlobalTalk™ is fully functional
without local access to the Internet or proximity to an Internet “hotspot”.
Users also need not wait for the availability of a dual-mode WiFi phone,
because MyGlobalTalk™ provides the benefits of a dual-mode phone at a fraction
of the cost using the customer’s existing mobile handset.
MyGlobalTalk™ itself is a patent-pending
proprietary software application developed by i2Telecom International,
Inc., a leader in innovative VOIP products and services. It is a new class
of mobile application intended to run on the user’s cell phone and automatically
route calls over i2Telecom’s VOIP network.
Your MyGlobalTalk™ phone number
follows you around the world – whether you carry the cell phone with you
or you forward your MyGlobalTalk™ number to any other number in the world
thru its Global Call Forwarding feature. And the best part is . . . it’s
so ridiculously inexpensive! MyGlobalTalk™ allows the user to call around
the world, as often as they wish, for as low a price as 2 cents per minute!
One of the unique features of MyGlobalTalk™ relates to how the service
takes advantage of the particular custom features offered by specific wireless
carriers. While MyGlobalTalk™ offers customers significant cost savings
and is very easy to use, there are a number of carriers with certain branded
features that, when coupled with MyGlobalTalk™, can substantially reduce
the cost of these cellular plans.
For example:
- T-Mobile: myFaves™
- Sprint: Sprint-to-Home™
- AllTel: myCircle™
- Select UK, European, Asian, S. American, and N. American (non-US) Wireless
Carriers
These carriers, through their unique branded features, allow MyGlobalTalk™
users to designate their MyGlobalTalk™ phone number as their “home” number.
T-Mobile’s myFaves,™ for example, allows users to designate up to five
(5) “favorite” numbers, while Sprint’s Sprint-to-Home™ allows users to
designate a single number, and AllTel’s myCircle™ lets users designate
up to ten (10) numbers. In each case, if MyGlobalTalk™ users designate
their MyGlobalTalk™ phone number as one of the designated numbers, then
every time the user dials using the MyGlobalTalk™ application, the call
does not subtract minutes from the cell phone calling plan. However, there
is still a charge for calls over the MyGlobalTalk network for domestic
calls of about 2 cents per minute, but this is still substantially less
than any plan currently being offered by any of the major carriers. The
savings for business travelers, students, military users, ex-patriates,
etc. who need to make frequent international calls, can be very substantial.
With MyGlobalTalk™, these users can complete these calls from their mobile
handsets without being charged exorbitantly high per minute fees. By enabling
the MyGlobalTalk™ feature for all international calls plus domestic calls,
or selecting the “All Calls” option, all of the user’s calls can be completed
without ever using the user’s cellular calling plan minutes. This will
allow users to sign up for the minimum-cost plans offered by wireless carriers
(typically around $40 - $50 a month) and yet still be able to make an unlimited
number of international and domestic long-distance calls. MetroPCS has
unlimited local plans for as little as $29 per month.
MyGlobalTalk™ is simple to use and,
once activated, requires no further adjustments. The Download and Setup
process utilizes standard SMS text messaging for acquiring the application
and occurs automatically once the user completes the sign up process. The
user simply signs up for the service and an SMS message is automatically
sent to their cell phone along with the application download link within
the body of the SMS message.
To use the MyGlobalTalk™ service,
users simply dial as normal; the MyGlobalTalk™ application determines the
proper call routing based on the set-up options. In addition, MyGlobalTalk™
permits three methods of dialing: 1) Keypad, 2) Contacts, and 3) Call History.
In each case, the application analyzes the number being dialed and routes
it according to the user’s set up parameters. The MyGlobalTalk™ application
also remembers its users, and whenever an update, new feature, or newer
version of the application becomes available, the user will receive a notification
on their handset with instructions on how to acquire the updates. All updates
and the initial MyGlobalTalk™ mobile application are FREE and available
to the users, regardless of which carrier they use as their wireless service
provider.
