Nasdaq: MOBE - News), a leading provider of innovative portable computing solutions for the mobile computer user, announced it has significantly strengthened its intellectual property position in the automatic programmable power adapter market with the purchase of patent 6,064,177 and notice of allowance for two new AC/DC patents.

"The combination of our previous patents and these new patents bolsters Mobility Electronics' ability
 to effectively protect its position in  the emerging combination AC/DC and remote automatic programmability power product market," noted Charlie Mollo, CEO of Mobility Electronics. "We will now have broader patent protection

Mobility Electronics' purchase of U.S. patent number 6,064,177, a remote "tip" programming patent, complements an existing broad remote power adapter patent owned by the company. Collectively, Mobility Electronics now owns two of the three existing key remote power adapte programming patents, and has license rights to the third.

 In addition, the company is in receipt of notices of allowance from the United States Patent and Trademark Office for two new U.S. patent applications. Each of these patents broadly covers the combination AC/DC power adapter technology, including the company's iGo Juice product and variations developed for its partners. Mobility now
 has an aggregate of 14 patents and patents pending that covers its power technology and products.
