Dear Reader,

I’m not sure I needed further incentive to dredge down the lane for my daily caramel machiato at the local Starbucks but now I don’t have to get my drink and run, avoiding the inherent pitfalls of coffee-drinking-and-driving, a practice my wife states would be less perilous if I wore dark colored pants.

But now, alas, arrives a “hot spot.”  My beloved purveyor of addictive beverages has gone “Wi-Fi” and with laptop in tow, I can cheerily consume my coffee while surfing the net on their wireless internet connection. The Starbucks people are enthralled as well, crediting the introduction of Wi-Fi “hot spots” with contributing to a 27% increase in revenue for June over the same month in 2002.

Wi-Fi is en route to changing the world, all clichés aside. Think mobile phones in the early 90’s and their impact on our society today. This liberation at hand, the ability to completely and effectively traverse the full spectrum of the Internet with speed and ease, is a tidal wave of opportunity crashing our technological shores. 

Unbridled will be our LAN (Local Area Networks), which will become Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN’s), allowing offices and SOHO’s to access data with remarkable ease and flexibility.  Imagine an untethered community of employees or customers, carrying on without cords or worse yet, no connection at all.

A recent report from Prudential "Ups" its view on the wireless telecomm industry from Market Perform to Market Outperform, citing stable pricing, steady channel checks, solid Q2 trends appearing to persist into Q3, and a minimal impact in 2003 from wireless number portability.

William Lindberg, President, is the former general manager of Netversant, a nationwide communication solutions provider. Mr. Lindberg has 23-years of experience in telecommunication, data integration and management. 

Brent Claypool, Director of Operations, has 10+ years experience in the communications industry that includes engineering and project management for several national and regional communication roll-outs for Wal-Mart, K-Mart and Macy's.

IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Network Installation Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: NWIS - News) announced today that it has been approved by San Francisco-based Vivato as a Value Added Reseller (VAR). Vivato is a network infrastructure company and manufacturer of the industry's first Wi-Fi switches.
